Education

Loyola School of Law at Loyola University New Orleans
Profession: Attorney

Narrative

I always knew I’d go to law school, but I wasn’t quite sure how I would get there. After teaching for three years, I realized that law was the direction I wanted to go. Now, I teach clients and the juries.

With the combination of my background and my family that as an attorney, I could do a lot to help people. that’s exactly what I enjoy the most about what I do now.

I come from a background and a culture that says the person is the most important aspect of any situation. I try to keep that at the forefront of my thoughts even when it is challenged.

If I had anything to share with someone who would be looking for a good family lawyer, it would be find someone with the skillsets to be able to sit down, help the person move from the point where they are to the point where they need to get, and still be able to preserve a healthy co-parenting relationship. At the end of the day, the children always belong to you.

Whatever conflict the parents are having it goes right through the middle of their child or their children. And so, as adults, they have to back up and they have to make sure that the words they are saying and the actions that they are taking are not about them. And they have to step forward and mature.

I like to write but I also love horses. And I like to play tennis and I also like to travel. So those are all interests that I have and all three of those allow me to travel and to be in different situations so I really enjoy that very much.
